Ah, art-filled December is coming…

Since December 1st is the 1st day of Advent, I gotta get a move on for this project! I decided to create and an Advent sculpture that captures a bit of Norway, my way 🙂

Advent beginning

The figure is a representation of St. Sinneva who was martyred in a cave on the island of Selje which I visited this past summer. The candles will be suspended in a square wreath form and each will have the meaning of the candle set as a holder: Hope, Peace, Joy (pink), and Love.

As I am working on this, I will also begin to finish Ailey’s 4th Christmas sculpture as they are the same material as my Advent Saint: paper mache or paper clay. I think this may be where I settle for a bit in my art as a few Christmas gifts will come out of the session too!  🙂

About goatgrl

Observer of detail, writer of lists, and archiver of accomplishments. ...yeah, so the gmail account.... decided on for many reasons which include constant misspelling of both my first and last names integrated with a nickname that relates to the translation of my last name in Norwegian (Ya, I'm 1st gen American) as relayed by my Dad: Vei=way, berg=small mountain. So, you have: "a way or path through the mountains such as a goat herder would take". So Bruce said: "so, i should just call you "goat girl" then. :)
